WHAT IS DIGITAL MARKETING

Now, what is Digital Marketing? Digital Marketing is one of the most frequently mentioned buzzwords in the world of modern business these days. It is the way to grow and make your business thrive online right now. It has taken this world by storm that even the most prestigious universities in the world are excited about it and calling it the 'next best thing'.

Are you ready for it? Are you gearing yourself towards it and unlocking opportunities for you and your business?

Before we dive into that, let's understand MARKETING. In its general sense, marketing is the process of identifying and responding to customer needs. This is an essential duty in the commercial world because successful marketing activities can produce inbound leads and attract a huge client base.

Learning about market orientation—where it is beneficial and necessary—is the first step in the classic marketing cycle, followed by developing the product and the entire business ecosystem. Although advertising has profound roots in business history and culture, advanced promoting through the use of digital marketing is a moderately new practice. With the explosion of new learnings —including the widespread use of computers and mobile phones—organizations began to investigate various avenues for new promoting strategies.

Now, ladies and gentlemen, that's when digital marketing was born.

Now let's define DIGITAL MARKETING so we can better understand it.

Let's begin with a basic definition of digital marketing so we can further understand it. This way, even the beginners out there who are reading this article will be guided in understanding it and its core value.

In contrast to our traditional way of marketing, digital marketing is a type of online marketing that helps promote and sell items and services. Since we're living in the mobile phone on hand and laptop lifestyle, it is the process of communicating with your target audience via various internet marketing channels such as search engines, social media networks, and email.

Even though advertising has a long history and tradition in business, sophisticated marketing-- such as digital marketing-- is a relatively new activity. This chasm appears to be widening with time, as many organizations shift their marketing budgets from traditional to digital. Overall, firms must create and implement a successful digital marketing strategy.

Now we can say that every brand which uses digital marketing has the countless potential to establish trust in their brand, to find people who are interested in their offering-- be it a product or service-- interact with them, and sell to them.

Understanding the birth of a business.

Indulge me in this one, and imagine that I am talking about you.

It is my firm belief that everyone has a gift, and each gift is solving another person's problem. That gift, no matter how simple or how elaborate, is a solution. And that solution when crafted into a product or service becomes the start of a whole new business idea -- a startup, maybe.

Now, you build a business because it helps people. You know that there is a need for that solution. You know that there are people out there willing to pay so that their problems will be solved by what you offer. Then what's next?

If you were to apply digital marketing to your business, the first thing that you have to do is create a website to showcase your brand. Believe it or not, a website is the focal point of every online business and every digital marketing campaign.

Digital marketing relies upon content. Now it's your job to lay out a strategic content plan that will attract your ideal clients. These are content that would resonate with our target audience. It will make them feel that you are talking, specifically, to them.

Being a 'creative', I find it fun for us to learn digital marketing. Why? Because it is our first step in adopting an entrepreneur mindset. I know that we are passionate about what we do, but understanding how to make what we love to do sustainable is a whole new fun experience that will help us thrive. Now, thriving is what will help us continue doing whatever it is that we are passionate about doing. Isn't that exciting?

Now, how do we use digital marketing to your advantage? Let's give a more concrete example, say, you have a band.

People are raving for you, they like watching you perform on-stage. They follow you, they learn about you on every social media platform that you're into. These fans have this insatiable hunger for information about you.

Now, what problems are you solving for these fans? Well, for one, you are entertaining these fans. You feed their hunger whatever type of music you are into. You are someone that keeps them inspired, sad, dreamy, etc. And through your songs, you make them feel your presence--that you're with them --whenever they listen to you.

What's next is you'll find out that people are wanting more, thus, the opportunity to produce more content, but this time, you're in the position to sell something. Give something and get something in return to make the activity sustainable.

That leads you to plan and give out more content.

Now you can plan your website. Make that the center of all your online campaigns. Much like your permanent residence in the internet world and the home for all your content. From there you could do live streams and get sponsorships, or paid exclusive online concerts. How about your own merchandise that people can buy? How about events producing music and albums? You see, how endless the possibilities are? And that's just the very outer layer of how you can use digital marketing to your advantage as a creative.

Then use your social media accounts to distribute these contents from your website. You know where your fans are hanging out, post the content there to help them find you.

Now your fans are invested more than ever.

They can totally relate to you. They feel that they are part of your every success and they swear to support you in your challenges. They are happy when you are happy. And feel defeated when you fail once in a while. They love you.

Now you've got your true fans. Got it?
